A former lode W occurrence/prospect/mine located in sec. 16, T29S, R33E, MDM, 6.8 km (4.2 miles) SW of Piute Peak (coordinates of record), N of the E end of Walker Basin, along the W canyon wall of Cholly Canyon and N of Rancheria Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. The location was not confirmed (1958). UTM estimated.
Mineralization is hosted in schist. The ore body is 9.14 meters thick at a length of 60.96 meters. Two outcrops of tactite strike N to N30W and are 20 to 30 feet thick and 200 feet long. Associated rocks include granite. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface openings comprised of shafts and shallow trenches in 1941.
Production data are found in: Troxel, Bennie Wyatt & P.K. Morton (1962).
May have yielded small amount of W concentrates at a grade of 0.5-1.5% WO3.
