A former W occurrence/mine located in the center sec. 16, T25S, R32E, MDM, 2.3 km (1.4 miles) NNE of Alta Sierra, on National Forest land. Operated during the period 1942 to 1943. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. May have been a part of the Gribble group.
Mineralization is hosted in granodiorite and limestone. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 36.58 meters and an overall depth of 12.19 meters and comprised of a 40 foot shaft and 80 feet of drifts.
Production data are found in: Troxel and Morton (1962).
Production was a total of 50-100 tons.
Production statistics: Year: 1943 (period = to 1943): Ore averaged ^1% WO3. Recovery percentage was 1 weight percent.
