A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 11, T28S, R34E, MDM, 1.5 km (0.9 mile) SSW of Inspiration Point (coordinates of record), W of Alaska Flat and E of the South Fork Erskine Creek, on National Forest land. The property comprises 120 acres. Owned by E. Roble, Los Angeles, California (1914- ). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Adjoins the Bright Star Mine on the E. This is an old prospect that was probably later renamed and/or consolidated into larger holdings.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body is 0.61 meter thick. The vein is 2 feet thick and is an extension of the Bright Star vein. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.
Workings include underground openings with a length of 304.8 meters and an overall depth of 30.48 meters and comprised of a shaft with drifts.
The ore was free-milling and ran $50 (period values) per ton. No specific production record was found.
