A former placer Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 1, T29S, R40E, MDM, 0.8 km (0.5 mile) N of Teagle (site), S of Phoenix Gulch and E of Hardcash Gulch, on private land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
NOTE: California Journal of Mines and Geology, California Division of Mines (1953) (Report 49): 49(1), apparently places this locality in San Bernardino County. The area is near the line.
Local rocks include Plio-Pleistocene and Pliocene loosely consolidated deposits and/or Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
