A W-Cu occurrence/prospect/mine located in the center (estimated) sec. 17, T27S, R35E, MDM, 0.7 km (0.4 mile) W of Rocky Point (coordinates of record), along the W slope of Rocky Point (E canyon wall of Kelso Valley) (7 miles SSE of Weldon), on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Kiavah Wilderness). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in quartz monzonite. The ore body is podiform and lenticular in shape. Tactite bodies are locally surrounded by a rind of hornblende gabbro, then by quartz monzonite. The tactite ranges from a few feet to several tens of feet in maximum dimension. Green Cu oxide staining is locally abundant. Associated rocks include gabbro. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings include surface openings comprised of bulldozed areas and hand trenched openings.
