A Cu-Au occurrence located in sec. 6, T30S, R38E, MDM, 4.5 km (2.8 miles) SE of Ricardo (site) and 2.7 km (1.7 miles) NW of Gypsite (Fremont Valley), along the SE margin of the El Paso Mountains. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in limestone and quartzite. The ore body is lenticular in form, strikes N25W and dips 70S at a width of 6.1 meters and a length of 15.24 meters. Copper minerals occur in 5 lenticular bodies of iron gossan. Placer Au has been found in gravels in gulches below the gossan. Eric lists the country rock as limestone and quartzite; Tucker lists it as diorite and schist, while Troxel and Morton generalize them into granitic rock and metamorphic rocks. Controls for ore emplacement included shear zones. Local rocks include Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 25.91 meters and comprised of a 75 foot drift and an 85 foot vertical shaft.
