A W occurrence/prospect/mine located in the SE¼SE¼ sec. 8, T27S, R35E, MDM, 3.1 km (1.9 miles) NE of Rocky Point (coordinates of record), along the lower N canyon wall of Cane Canyon (branch of Kelso Valley) (6½ miles S of Weldon). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in hornfels. The ore body strikes N and dips 60W. The roof pendant is 120 feet wide (E-W) and 350 feet long (N-S). Associated rocks include quartz monzonite. Local rocks include Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Workings include surface openings comprised of 2 trenches about 30 feet long, 4 to 6 feet deep and 60 feet apart. There are 2 pits from 3 to 7 feet deep.
There was probably no production. Some intermittent work was in progress in 1957.
