A former W occurrence/mine located in the NW¼ (estimated) sec. 20, T28S, R34E, MDM, 2.7 km (1.7 miles) SSE of Inspiration Point (coordinates of record) (11 miles SE of Bodfish), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

NOTE: USGS MRDS database file # 10103230 presents T&R values consistent with those presented above; however, it discusses workings in distant T&R sections (Secs. 11, 12, 13 & 14, T30S, R40E & in sec. 18, T30S, R41E. The validity of other data presented regarding workings nad the deposit is unknown.)

Mineralization is hosted in metamorphic rock. The ore body strikes N50W and dips 65NE at a width of 0.2 meter, a length of 4.57 mters and a depth-to-bottom of 4.57 meters. The deposits occur in poorly defined channels a few feet in depth, several tens to a few hundred feet in elngth. The general course of the channels is NW to SE. Tactite bodies occur along bedding planes of metamorphic rocks. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.

Workings include surface & underground openings. Possibly a 35 foot shaft inclined at 65NE, with a 10 foot drift to the SE at the bottom of the shaft. Also, 3 bulldozed trenches and open pit excavations withn the deepest open cut at 20 feet.

Stringer deposits have been mined intermittently for placer scheelite and gold since 1905. Total production probably several thousand units of WO3. Probably some production in the mid-1950's.

Analytical data results: Ore averaged 3% WO3.

The area was determined to be underlain by 1,578,000 cubic yards which contained $0.33 (period values) per cubic yard in WO3, and an additional 5,462,000 cubic yards, which contained $0.25 to $0.33 (period values) per cubic yard (validity unknown).
