A former W occurrence/prospect/mine located in the NE¼ sec. 18, T27S, R35E, MDM, 4.6 km (2.8 miles) E of Heald Peak (coordinates of record), in the Kelso Vally N of Dry Canyon(6 miles SSE of Weldon), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in metamorphic rock. The ore body is lenticular in form at a length of 9.14 meters. Controls for ore emplacement included a shear zone and copper mineralization. Tactite occurs in 2 lenses or layers within a poorly exposed pendant. One tactite body body is 4 feet wide, strikes N60W and dips 60SW. Another, 100 feet to the NW strikes N75E and dips 40SE, and is exposed in a trench. Associated rocks include quartz monzonite. Local rocks include Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of an irregular, 40 foot, vertical shaft with 50 feet of drifts; a 20 foot vertical shaft and a 100 foot open cut, all in line on a N25W bearing. Shallow open cuts and trenches were excavated elsewhere.

An undetermined amount of scheelite has been produced in recent years.
