A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in secs. 26 & 27, T27S, R29E, MDM, 7.5 km (4.7 miles) SSE of Granite Station, along Long Tom Gulch. The property comprised 130 acres. Owned by Long Tom M. and M. Company. Operated by F. B. Webb (1933- ). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit. The ore body strikes NW-SE; NE-SW and dips 45N; 40SE and 20NW. The Long Tom vein on the SE portion of the property averages 16 inches (40 cm) in thickness. The footwall is diabase and the hanging wall is granite. Two other intersecting veins are the Antrim and the Tucker, averaging 5 inches (12.75 cm) in thickness. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings include surface and underground openings. The principal workings on the SE portion of the property are on the Long Tom vein. The development work consisted of a shaft on the vein, variously reported to be from 380 to 500 feet deep, with several thousand feet of drifts. The vein has been stoped from the 300 foot level to surface, for a length of 150 feet. These workings are now inaccessible. The property was under lease to F.B. Webb, who lived on the property. He confined his work to Tuckers Gulch (now Long Tom Gulch ?), which is just NE of the Long Tom workings. Considerable tunneling and gophering was done here in the early days on two intersecting veins in the granite, the Antrim and the Tucker. Present workings are on a vein which parallel the Antrim just below its intersection with the Tucker. They are now (most recently) sinking a shaft on the NW side of the Gulch in an attempt to pick up the Antrim vein below the old workings. Water was obtained from springs through 3,200 feet of 1.5 inch (3.75 cm) pipes. Dumps from arrastras and old mills were hauled to a plant in Tuckers Gulch, which consisted of 2 twenty ton tanks, circulating pump and zinc boxes.

NOTE: The topo map reflects 15 shaft symbols, about 12 adit symbols and in excess of 41 prospect pit symbols.

The mill in Tuckers Gulch reportedly recovered about $5 (period values) Au/ton. 116 tons of ore yielded $2,800 in the mill.
