A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in secs. 2-5 & 8, T25S, R29E, MDM, about 8.6 km NNE of Woody, on private (patented) and unpatented land. Owned by W. Adams, Cornith, Mississippi. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. The property comprises 150 acres of patented claims and 150 acres held by location. This property is a consolidation of several old properties.
Mineralization is hosted in porphyry and slate. The ore body strikes E-W and dips 45. There are 6 parallel veins averaging 2 feet thick. The footwall is quartz porphyry and the hanging wall is slate. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of a 300 foot tunnel and several thousand feet of drifts and crosscuts plus a stope at 80 feet by 3 feet by 70 feet. Open cuts were excavated on other claims.
The ore was free-milling.
