A W occurrence/mine located in the S½NW¼ (estimated) sec. 20, T25S, R32E, MDM, 2.2 km (1.3 miles) NW of Alta Sierra, along the W canyon wall of Slick Rock Creek, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in metasedimentary rock. The ore body is irregular in form at a width of 60.96 meters. The roof pendant is ½ mile wide and extends for over a mile. It is composed largely of slates, hornfels and quartzite. Associated rocks include diorite. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface openings comprised of an open cut 400 feet long and 200 feet wide. The long axis of the pit trends N15E. An adit was driven 119 feet eastward near the S end of the pit.
About 60 tons of low-grade ore was stockpiled at the N end of the cut in 1957.
