A former W occurrence/mine located in the NE¼ sec. 11 & in the center W½ sec. 12, T26S, R37E, MDM, 2.5 km (1.6 miles) E of Morris Peak (coordinates of record) and 8.3 km (5.1 miles) WNW of Indian Wells, along the W canyon wall of Indian Wells Canyon (9 miles NW of Inyokern). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in limestone. The ore body strikes NW and dips steeply NE at a thickness of 3.66 meters. The tactite layers are several tens of feet long. The ore bodies are discontinuos within the tactite. Local rocks include Schist of various types and ages, unit 4 (El Paso Mountains) and/or Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of trenches and short adits, mostly on the FOB No. 2 claim.
There was an undetermined production before 1950 and a small production in 1950.
Analytical data results: The ore averages 1% WO3 or less. Locally it is as much as 3% WO3.
