A Au prospect located in sec. 9, T7S, R34E, MDM, 4.5 km (2.8 miles) W of Black Canyon Spring (coordinates of record), along Poleta Canyon (on the divide between Poleta Canyon and Redding Canyon), on National Forest wilderness land (Black Canyon Roadless Area Review & Evaluation (RARE II) Area). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
The ore body is 0.4 meter thick, 75 meters wide and 150 meters long. It is tabular in formand fills a fissure vein. The primary mode of origin was hydrothermal. Primary ore control was fracturing. Wallrock alterastion is slight (silicification). Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include unspecified surface and underground openings.
