A Cu-Ag-Fe occurrence located 6.9 km (4.3 miles) WSW of Millspaugh site (approximately 2 miles SW of Carricut Lake; 3.7 air miles SSE of Junction Ranch, on military reservation land (China Lake Naval Ordnance Test Station). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. This working was developed to explore the limits of a quartz-rich mineralized vein.
Mineralization is hosted in granite. The ore body is tabular. Controls for ore emplacement included fluids intruding along joints or fractures in Mesozoic granite. It has no surface expression that is recognizable and the adit is caved. Vein material and host rock determined from examination of the dump. Local rocks include Undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a caved adit. Dump volume was small (under 1,000 cubic feet). If an average drift of 5 feet high by 5 feet wide, the drift length was probably 40 feet of less (NOTE: This calculation does not take into consideration expansion of muck volume upon blasting.)
