A former W mine located in sec. 14, T8S, R36E, MDM, 4.9 km (3.0 miles) WSW of Deep Springs, on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Piper Mountain Wilderness). Operated during the period 1942-1943. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with 3 parallel veins, hosted in quartz monzonite. The ore body is lenticular and dips 60S. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
