A former W-Cu mine located about 4.2 km WSW of Black Canyon Spring, S of Redding Canyon, on National Forest land. Operated in 1952. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is hosted in marble. The mine was developed locally adjacent to a stock of porphyritic quartz monzonite in gently dipping limestone with interbedded shale of the Silver Peak Formation. Associated rocks include quartz monzonite. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface openings comprised of an open cut with the use of a power shovel.
Several thousand tons of ore were milled and trucked to the Pine Creek mill, U.S. Vanadium Co., for treatment. No figures available.
