A former Au mine located in the SE¼NW¼ (estimated, very questionable) sec. 23, T8S, R31E, MDM, 4.8 km (3.0 miles) E of Aspendell and 6.2 km (3.9 miles) N of Parchers Resort, W of Coyote Ridge and E of Coats Meadow (1.3 mile E of Andrews Camp), on National Forest land. The property consisted of 7 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10036046 indicates that the alternate name for this mine might be the Schober Mine. MRDS file #10235971 indicates that the alternate name for the Schober and Merrill groups might be the Moffatt Mine. The coordinates provided for the Moffatt Mine in MRDS file #10036046 plot to an adit and prospect symbols designated the Schober Mine on the topo map. These 2 localities are apparently synonymous.

Mineralization is a vein deposit with a vein 3 feet thick, hosted in granite. The ore body strikes NW and dips 40SW at a thickness of 0.91 meter. Local alteration is oxidation. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 15.24 meters, and comprised of 2 shafts. Shaft No. 1 is 50 feet deep, and 200 feet NW is No. 2 shaft, also 50 feet deep.
