A former Au-Ag-Pb mine located in secs. 7 & 8 (estimated), T10S, R37E, MDM, 6.5 km (4.0 miles) NE of Wünüpü Peak (coordinates of record), along Marble Canyon opposite the confluence of Opal Canyon (near Whippoorwill Flat; 5.5 miles N of Waucoba Springs), on National Park Service land (Death Valley National Park. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 5,000 meters.
Mineralizaton is a vein deposit hosted in limestone. There are 2 vein systems where veins are 18 inches (45 cm) to 2 feet (0.61 meters) in thickness. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 1 (Death Valley).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 6.1 meters and comprised of shallow shafts.
Production data are found in: Tucker, W. Burling & Reid J. Sampson (1938).
Ore was reported to carry $3-$20/ton in Au (period values); 10 to 20 ounces of Ag/ton plus 3 to 10% Pb. No production record was found.
