A former borate mine located in sec. 22, T26N, R2E, SBM, 8.0 km (5.0 miles) WNW of Ryan, on the western margin of Furnace Creek Wash, on National Park Service wilderness land (Death Valley National Park/Death Valley Wilderness). Owned by the U.S. Borax and Chemical Co. (1976). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
This open-pit site is reached via a faint road branching to the southeast off the Corkscrew Mine road. Most of the activity here has been limited to the south side of the ridge where surface scraping is evident. Some underground activity has resulted in adits on both sides of the ridge and a couple of vertical shafts.Greene, 1981
