A former Pb-Cu-Au-Zn-Ag mine located in sec. 36, T24S, R43E, MDM, 6.1 km (3.8 miles) ESE of Valley Wells (Searles Valley), on the W slope of the Slate Range, on private (patented) land. Deposit comprised of 17,385 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters. NOTE: The primary name for this mine on the topo map is the "Gold Bottom."

NOTE: The coordinates provided are derived from the topo map (directly over the shaft symbol).

Mineralization is hosted in limestone and shale. The ore body is lenticular in form, strikes N50W, dips 65SW, at a width of 1.52 meters and a length of 60.96 meters. Controls for ore emplacement included fissures & bedding planes. Oxidized Pb & Zn sulfides occur along fissures and parallels bedding and the contact of limestone with shale. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 1 (Death Valley).

Workings include underground openings with a length of 2,286 meters and comprised of a series of adits. NOTE: The topo map reflects 5 or 6 adits, 1 shaft and a series of prospect pits.

Production data are found in: Goodwin, Joseph Grant (1957).

Shipments assayed 0.208 ounces Au, 10 ounces Ag, 0.77% Cu, and 9.58% Pb. During the period 1948-1949 high-grade Zn ore was shipped. During the period 1950-1951, 100 cars of tailings were shipped. Total production was between $900,000 and $1,000,000 of ore.
