A former Cu-Au-Ag mine located in sec. 5, T20N, R5E, SBM, 1.1 km (0.7 mile) SW of Ibex Peak (cooridnates of record), on National Park Service wilderness land (Death Valley National Park/Death Valley Wilderness). Property consisted of 5 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in monzonite. The ore body is 0.61 meter thick. The ore occurs in a narrow baryte vein in a thin belt of schist on contact of monzonite and granite. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 1 (Death Valley).
Workings include underground openings comprised of several tunnels. Two are 800 and 200 feet long, respectively. A 20 foot long by 50 feet long stope lies above the 200 foot tunnel and goes to surface.
The mine shipped high-grasde Ag ore in 1937 & 1938, which ran over 100 ounces Ag per ton.
