A reported placer Au occurrence located in the E½NW¼ sec. 10, T11N, R10E, MDM, about 4.3 km NE of Coloma, along Big Sailor Creek, on unpatented land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Logan (1934), Pl. II, shows a "United States" lode claim in this section, lying between the Russian-American & North Extension Rocky Bend claims.
Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
