A former Au mine located in the SW¼ sec. 16 & in the SE¼ sec. 17, T11N, R8E, MDM, 1.2 km (0.7 mile) S of Goose Flat (coordinates of record) and 1.0 km (0.6 mile) NNW of Shirttail Peak (coordinates of record) (Salmon Falls District), and about 7½ miles N of El Dorado Hills (1 mile S of Rattlesnake Bridge; immediately E of the Zantgraf Mine), on federal land. Holdings were 120 acres of patented agricultural land. Operated during the period 1924 to 1926 and in 1937. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Land withdrawn by the federal government for a reservoir. Location probably now inundated beneath the Folsom Lake reservoir.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granodiorite. Several thin veins occur in granodiorite. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an adit. A 2-stamp mill was erected.
Production data are found in: Clark and Carlson (1956).
A small amount of Au was produced in 1937.
