A former lode Au mine located in the SW¼ (?) sec. 11, T12N, R10E, MDM, 1.0 km (0.6 mile/3,100 feet) SSE of Georgetown, on the W side of highway 193. Operated in the 1870's. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein/seam deposit. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Production data are found in: Clark, Wm. B. & D.W. Carlson (1956).
Rich ore was produced in the 1870's. Some of the rock yielded a dollar (period values) to the pan.
