A former placer Au occurrence/dredge mine located in secs. 16 & 17, T10N, R9E, MDM, 2.6 km (1.6 miles) SS of Mormon Hill (coordinates of record), along the W side of Sweetwater Creek and NW of Pine Hill. Operated by F. M. Starbuck. Operated intermittently during the late 1930's and early 1940's. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Local rocks include Mesozoic gabbroic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings included surface dragline dredge operations.
