A former placer Au occurrence/hydraulic mine located in sec. 16, T10N, R12E, MDM, 2.5 km (1.6 miles) NE of Newtown, in the headwaters area of the North Fork Weber Creek. Operated around 1896. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: Pl. II, Logan (1938) outlines 2 locations in this section: 1. The Snow Consolidated Placer Mine with holdings of 300 acres; and, 2. The Joseph Snow & Company Mine with 160 acres.
Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Workings include surface openings comprised of 2 pits.
The Au ran 948 fine.
