A slate (dimension) deposit located in the SE¼ sec. 26, T11N, R10E, MDM, about 3 km S of Kelsey, on the divide between Kelsey Canyon and Ladies Canyon, N of the South Fork American River, opposite Chili Bar. Operated in the 1890's. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
A metamorphic deposit. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface openings comprised of several quarries.
Produced roofing slate.
