A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 12, T9N, R10E, MDM, 1.8 km (1.1 miles) E of Logtown (site), W of Martinez Creek (3 miles SE of El Dorado). Operated in 1894 and again in 1920. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10259960 presents a T&R value in sec. 16; however, it also states that the accuracy is 10,000 meters, and cites the oldest reference (Logan 1926).
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granite and slate. The ore body strikes N and dips 60E at a thickness of 0.91 meter. The vein varies from 6 inches (15 cm) to 3 feet (0.91 meter), with a granite hanging wall and a slate footwall. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic gabbroic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 inclined shafts at 130 feet and 30 feet in depth, respectively, plus 115 feet of drifts.

A small amount of Au was produced in 1894.
