A former lode Au mine located in the W½NE¼ sec. 11, T11N, R10E, MDM, about 2.8 km NNW of Kelsey and 1.5 km (1.0 mile) WSW of Spanish Flat, NNW of the Kelsey School, on private land. Property was comprised of 21 acres. Operated by E. E., A. C., and Joseph R. Maynard (1938). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips NE. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 150 foot inclined shaft and a 350 foot drift.
Production data are found in: Clark and Carlson (1956).
A small amount of Au was produced in 1914.
