A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the SW¼SW¼ sec. 33, T9N, R13E, MDM, 1.8 km (1.1 miles) E of Omo Ranch, along Sopiago Creek near its confluence with the Middle Fork Cosumnes River, on National Forest land. The property was comprised of 40 acres. Operated in 1908. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
NOTE: Could this be one of the "Elain Washington Witmer claims" referred to at this location on Pl. II .
Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface openings comprised of an open pit.
Production data are found in: Clark, Wm. B. & D.W. Carlson (1956).
A small amount of Au was produced in 1908.
