A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 26, T9N, R10E, MDM, about 3.4 km (2.0 miles) N of Nashville, W of the North Fork Cosumnes River and E of highway 49. Operated around 1894. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10,000 meters.

NOTE: all 3 USGS MRDS files contain disparate data regarding this locality's actual situation. The constants seem to be section 26 on the Mother Lode, N of Nashville. MRDS file #10162770 states that it is 2 miles N of Nashville but provides coordinates and T&R values placing it far to the E in the Newtown District. MRDS file #10006879 presents the correct T&R value, but presents coordinates for the wrong sec. 26 (the one near Old Fort Jim to the E). MRDS file #10029854 doesn't present a T&R sec. but gives the T&R value for Nashville and states it is on the Mother Lode. The coordinates presented in this Mindat file are for the apparent dead-end mining road with structures on the topo map in sec. 26, about 2 miles N of Nashville. This satisfies most of the stated criteria for this locality (2 to 2½ miles N of Nashville/sec. 26, T9N, R10E/ & on the Mother Lode Belt).

Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 160 foot shaft. A 5-stamp mill was erected.

Production data are found in: Clark, Wm. B. & D.W. Carlson (1956).
