A former placer Au occurrence/drift mine located in the NE¼SW¼ sec. 34, T11N, R13E, MDM, 0.8 km (0.5 mile) WSW of Pacific, S of hwy 50 and S of the South Fork American River, on National Forest land. Operated from around 1915 to the early 1920's. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Workings include underground openings comprised of several adits, with one at 1,000 feet in length. The gravel was treated in a barrel gravel mill.
