A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 33, T12N, R10E, MDM, 1.1 km (0.7 mile) WSW of Garden Valley. The property comprises 40 acres. Operated during the period 1925 to 1926 & 1930. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein Au deposit hosted in amphibolite, on the Mother Lode. The ore body strikes NW and dips 50NE at a thickness of 1.22 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an 80 foot inclined shaft. The ore was treated at the Frog Pond mill.
No production record was found. Some high-grade ore was produced. A few tons of ore were reported in 1930.
