A former placer Au occurrence/drift mine located in sec. 17 & sec. 18, T10N, R12E, MDM, 1.8 km (1.1 miles) SSW of Camino, N of the Weber Reservoir. Operated in the early days. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range) and/or Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 500 foot adit with drifts and raises.
$40,000 (period values) of Au was produced in the early days of operation, and again in the period 1934 to 1938. The gravel yielded $8 (period values) per cubic yard. The largest nugget weighed 3.42 ounces Troy. The Au ranges from 910 to 919 fine.
