A former Au mine located in the W½SE¼ sec. 7, T12N, R10E, MDM, 0.9 km (0.6 mile) ENE of Greenwood, on private land. The claim is 18 acres. Operated by A.B. Craig and wife (1937). Operated during the period 1894 to 1896. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Logan (1934) shows the Ohio & Eagle claims - also a second #18 - probably the Alpine claim.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with stringers hosted in slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips 51NE at a thickness of 1.22 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings with a length of 76.2 meters and comprised of a 250 foot inclined shaft and an open cut.
No production record was found.
