A former lode Au occurrence/group of claims/mine located in the S½ sec. 1 and in the NW¼ sec. 12, T8N, R10E, MDM, 1.8 km (1.1 miles) SE of Nashville, on the divide between the North Fork Cosumnes River and East Big Canyon Creek, on private land. The property comprises 7 (or 8) claims covering approximately 137 acres. Operated by Lansing Stout, C/O Hibernia Savings Bank. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. The Washington claim (E½NE¼SW¼ sec. 1) is part of the group per Pl. II (Logan 1938). The group probably included the Nashville (Baldwin) and Last Chance, also wotrked by Briarcliffe; the Nome, Oregon, Columbia, Portland, and Willametter claims shown on Pl. II Logan, 1934).
Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
