A former lode Au mine located in the NW¼ sec. 3 & in the NE¼ sec. 4, T10N, R11E, MDM, 2.1 km (1.3 miles) ENE of Mormon Hill (coordinates of record), on the divide between Pinehem Creek and Wildcat Canyon, S of Weber Creek and 1 mile NNW of the Deer Valley School, on private land. Discovered prior to 1860. Operated by Dorothy F. Kipp. Opened & operated in 1860; the dump was worked in 1934. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granodiorite. The ore body strikes NE and dips NW at a thickness of 1.22 meters and a length of 60.96 meters. The pocket vein is 3 to 4 feet thick. Another vein 5 feet thick strikes W and is described as a porphyry vein. Local rocks include Mesozoic gabbroic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 75 foot crosscut adit and a 120 foot drift. A 10-stamp mill was erected.

$10,000 (period values) of Au were produced from a pocket in 1860.
Analytical data results: 1½ to 2% sulfides.
