A Cr occurrence located in sec. 16, T11N, R8E, MDM, 1.2 km (0.8 mile) SE of Goose Flat (coordinates of record). Operated in 1918. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
This locality is included in land withdrawn for a federal reservoir site. Reference page shows location in sec. 16, but USGS quadrangle, Pilot Hill, California (1954), shows Rattlesnake bridge in the SE¼ sec. 9. This may be one of the locations mentioned under miscellaneous deposits on p. 152, Cater, et al (1951) (bottom of page).
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface openings.
25 tons of 28% ore were produced in 1918.
