A former lode Au mine located in the SE¼ sec. 12 & in the NW¼ sec. 13, T11N, R10E, MDM, 1.0 km (0.6 mile) NE of Kelsey, ESE of Gopher Hill E of highway 193, on private land. Operated prior to 1914. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in Mariposa slate. The ore body strikes N50E and dips 80SE at a thickness of 7.62 meters. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 150 foot shaft.
No production record was found.
