A former Cr occurrence/claim/mine located in the NW¼ sec. 24, T12N, R10E, MDM, 2.9 km (1.8 miles) NE of Meadow Brook, S of Shoemaker Hill, on the E side of Traverse Creek (about 100 feet above it), on private land. Operated by L. H. Butcher Company (1918). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains) and/or undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a shaft about 15 feet deep plus a drift.
About 17 long tons of ore were produced prior to August, 1918. It was said to have assayed 51% Cr2O3.
