A placer/lode Au occurrence located in the NW¼NE¼ & in the NE¼NE¼NW¼ sec. 12, T12N, R8E, MDM, 3.3 km (2.1 miles) NNW of Cool, along the Middle Fork American River at Louisiana Bar. Assay of 50 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Minweralization is a quartz lens that shows little Au. Also, apparently a placer deposit. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings. The Louisiana Bar Bureau of Land Management report states a 100 foot adit on lot 2; also a 45 foot cut and an 8 foot adit.
