A former lode Au occurrence/group of claims/hydraulic mine located in sec. 19, T12N, R10E, MDM, about 3 km (1¼ miles) SE of Greenwood, NE of Coloma Canyon. Property is comprised of 3 claims and a mill site. Worked in the early days. Only a little pocket hunting on the stringers exposed in the old pit has been done in later years. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Part may be in sec. 18. Clark & Carlson give the location in sec. 20; Logan (1938) shows sec. 10, but Pl. II of that reference shows locations of the claims in the county according to GLO records, shows location as stated above.
Mineralization is a Au vein/seam deposit located on the Greenwood seam belt. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface openings comprised of a pit from hydraulicking.
No production record was found. Some specimen ore was produced.
