A reported Au occurrence/prospect located in sec. 17, T12N, R17E, MDM, 1.3 km (0.8 mile) WNW of Fallen Leaf, E of the S end of Fallen Leaf Lake, on Cathedral Peak (cliff), on National Forest wilderness land (Desolation Wildrness). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 5 (Northern Sierra Nevada and Eastern Klamath Mountains).
