A former lode Au occurrence/claim/mine located in the W½SE¼ sec. 17, T10N, R10E, MDM, about 5 km E of Rescue, N of Dry Creek (3½ miles NE of El Dorado), on private land. The claim comprises 20.65 acres. Operated by Charles E. Pine and Thomas G. Patton. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Location of workings may be the shaft symbol shown in the SW¼SE¼ near the S¼ (??)of the section on the USGS topo map.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided and/or ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
