A former lode Au mine located in the SE¼ sec. 29 and in the NE¼ sec. 32, T9N, R10E, MDM, 2.2 km (1.4 miles) ESE of Mount Aigare (coordinates of record) and 3.8 km (2.4 miles) ENE of Brandon Corners, along a S-flowing tributary of Slate Creek, on private land. Operated by the Capital Co. Operated during the period 1890 to 1902 and in 1938. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in Calaveras slate. The ore body strikes N and dips E at a thickness of 1.22 meters. The vein is 2 to 4 feet thick with 2 to 2½ feet of solid quartz, and dips steeply. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 53.34 meters and comprised of a 175 foot and a 40 foot deep shafts and drifts. The ore was treated by flotation.
