A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the NE¼NE¼ sec. 1, T9N, R10E, MDM, about 2.7 km SE of El Dorado, N of Tombstone Mountain, on the divide between Deadman Creek and Martinez Creek (2 miles S of Diamond Springs), on private land. Property is comprised of 14 acres. Operated by Mary A. Simpson, et al. Operated in 1914 and again around 1934. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit on the Mother Lode hosted in Mariposa slate. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 71.63 meters, and comprised of a 235 foot crosscut adit.
