A former lode Au mine located in secs. 17, 18 & 20, T10N, R11E, MDM, about 1.65 km SE of Coon Hollow, about 2.6 km S of Placerville and about 2.6 km NE of Diamond Springs, N of Weber Creek (between Chili Ravine and Weber Creek), on private land. The property consisted of 56.54 acres. Operated by the Placerville Gold Mining Co. C/O L.F.S. Holland. Operated up to 1888. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in Mariposa slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips 65NE at a thickness of 1.83 meters. The vein averages 6 feet in thickness. Two ore shoots at 125 feet and 150 feet long were worked. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an adit and 2 shafts.
