A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 36, T11N, R10E, MDM, 1.2 km (0.7 mile) ESE of Chili Bar, E of Big Canyon and S of the South Fork American River (2 miles N of Placerville; 5 miles SE of Coloma). Operated in the 1890's. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. During the 1890's this concern operated a mine which later was purchased by the Gentle Annie Mining Company (see Gentle Annie & River Hill group - sec. 6, T10N, R11E, and sec. 36, T11N, R10E).
Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
