A former placer Au occurrence/dredge mine located in sec. 20, T10N, R10E, MDM, about 4.65 km E of Rescue, at the confluence of Dry Creek and Slate Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. The former dredge mine is inferred from the large area of dredge tailings covering the entire confluence area of the cited creeks.
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
